Born on 8 June 1962 as Kristine Weitz, American singer-songwriter is better known simply as Kristine W. She is the daughter of Victor "Duane" and Donna Lee (Lobdell) Weitz. Both of her father's parents (Victor & Alma Wilhelm Weitz) trace their Volga German ancestral home to Yagodnaya-Polyana.
A native of Pasco, Washington, she was crowned Miss Washington in 1981, and went on to win the talent competition in the 1982 Miss America Pageant. She has had several #1 hits on Billboard's Hot Dance/Club Play charts.
