Description

Johann Michael Frank, son of Johann Heinrich (b. 1711) & Maria Magdalena (b. 1707) Frank, was born on 15 January 1746 in Hohenlohe (today in Baden-Württemberg). He married Maria Katharina Braun. She had been born in 1747. Michael also had a brother Anton Christian (b. 1741 in Hohenlohe).

Heinrich Frank and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) where they settled in the colony of Neuduvenstedt.

The Frank family, along with the Friedrich Altergott family, immigrated in 1766 to Russia. Along the way Maria Magdalena Frank and Friedrich Altergott died, and their spouses Heinrich Frank and Elisabeth Altergott married, and the combined Frank/Altergott family continued to the Volga Region where they settled in the colony of Dönhof . They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Households No. 88 (Heinrich Frank), No. 89 (Anton Christian Frank), No. 90 (Johann Michael Frank), No. 91 (Ludwig Altergott), and No. 94 (Friedrich Altergott).
