Johannes Glaser, son of Christoph & Anna Barbara Glaser, was born on 2 December 1708 in Eutingen, today an eastern suburb of Pforzheim, in Baden-Württemberg. He married Elisabetha Heydecker on 17 September 1733 in the Eutingen Lutheran Church.
They had seven children, each born and baptized in Eutingen: (1) Anna (baptized 14 March 1734); (2) Johann Jakob (baptized 26 February 1736); (3) Nikolaus (baptized 17 March 1738); (4) Rosina Barbara (baptized 1 May 1740); (5) Dorothea (baptized 18 April 1743); (6) Andreas (baptized 4 January 1746); and (7) Margaretha (born in 1758).
Johannes Glaser, his wife and six of their children immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein), departing from Altona, Duchy of Holstein, on 29 June 1761 under the leadership of Johann Thomas Gabler. They arrived in the city of Schleswig, Duchy of Schleswig, on 4 July 1761.
At some point, before 1765, their son Nikolaus married to Barbara Huber (born in 1742) who had arrived in Denmark in 1761 as Georg Eberhard 's maid. The Glasers lived in Denmark until 1 May 1765, when they immigrated to Russia.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm where they are recorded on the 1775 Census in Household No. 48.
At some point before 1798 Nikolaus died. His daughter Elisabeth is registered on the Grimm 1798 census in Household No. Gm136. His son Jakob moved to Saratov in 1797.
