Description

Johann Christoph Kaltner (also spelled Költner, Kältner, Kaltener, or Caltener on various documents), son of Johann Wilhelm Kaltner & Anna (Elisabetha) Catharina Waltmann/Waldmann, was baptized on 27 February 1744 in the Catholic Church of Westernkotten (today called Bad-Westernkotten), 6 kilometers south of Lippstadt, in Nordrhein-Westfalen (North Rhine-Westphalia). He married Anna Nagel.

They immigrated to Russia, and settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 58.

On the 1798 Census of Katharinenstadt , Johann Christoph and his second wife are recorded in Household No. Ka133.
