Description

Johann Heinrich Köhler (son of Christian Köhler from Calbach and his wife Susanna) was baptized in Büdingen on 20 May 1742. Johann Heinrich married Catharina Emrich (daughter of Conrad Emrich from Bleichenbach) on 29 May 1766 in Büdingen. Johann Heinrich and Catharina had two children who were born in Calbach and baptized in Büdingen: Anna Catharina, born 23 October and baptized 25 October 1767; and Johann Georg, born 3 January and baptized 6 January 1771.  

The family arrived in Russia on 17 July 1772. Along with other families who also arrived in July and August of 1772 they traveled to the the Volga German colonies, settling in Pobochnaya in 1773. 

The family relocated to Schilling in 1774. They are reported on the 1798 Census of Schilling in Household #14.
