Description

Johann Heinrich Maÿ, son of Sebastian Maÿ from Rothenbergen, was baptized on 6 February 1729.  Catharina, daughter of Conrad Daubert from Mittelgündau, was baptized on 21 March 1734.  Johann Heinrich and Catharina married in Rothenbergen 31 July 1755.  They had four children according to the Gründau parish records, all born in Rothenbergen:  Johannes born 24 August, baptized 28 August 1757; Elisabetha, born 10 February, baptized 12 February 1760; Anna Catharina, born 6 May 1762, baptized 9 May 1762; and Hartmann, born 30 December 1765, and baptized 1 January 1766.  The couple and their two oldest children arrived in Russia on 9 Aug 1766.  The couple and son Johannes settled in Norka and are recorded on the Norka First Settler's List in Family #65.
