Description

Nicolaus Rupp (son of Valentin Rupp) was baptized on 19 Feb 1730 at the Catholic church in Hofheim (Kreis Bensheim), near Worms.  Nicolaus married Maria Anna Hebeler (daughter of Johannes Hebeler and his wife Anna Dorothea) on 27 Feb 1764.   The baptism of one child is recorded in the Hofheim records: Anna Margaretha, baptized 6 Jul 1765.  The family arrived in Russia on 13 Sep 1766.   Maria Anna must have died on the way to the villages because on the Rothammel first settler’s list (Family #23), Nicolaus’ wife is called Anna Margaretha.
