Johannes Trippel was born in 1725 in Nieder-Eschbach, today a district in the city of Frankfurt (am Main). He married Ursula Bechtel who had been born in 1726.
They had five children, two of them baptized in the Evangelical Church of Ober-Eschbach, 18 kilometers north of Frankfurt am Main: (1) Heinrich, born in 1752; (2) Anna Katharina, born in 1754; (3) Maria Elisabetha, born 10 April 1757 and baptized on 12 April 1757; (4) Johann Christoph, born 29 January 1759 and baptized on 2 February 1759; and (5) Johann, born in 1761.
Johannes and his family immigrated to Russia as colonists of the recruiter Le Roy. They departed from the port of Lübeck aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Heinrich Niemann, and arrived in Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766.
The Johannes Trippel family arrived in the colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767, and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 155. In this records, their origin is listed as Nieder-Eschbach in the jurisdiction of Hanau.
Descendants of the Trippel family are still living in Warenburg at the time of 1798 Census in Households No. Wr37 and Wr54.
