Description

The Johann Adam Wagner family that settled in Nieder-Monjou came from Wittgenborn.  Wittgenborn is very close to Wächtersbach.  The Wächtersbach Parish records report that Johann Adam Wagner, son of Catharina Wagner of Wittgenborn, and Anna Margareatha Protzmann, daughter of Wilhelm Protzmann, were married on 11 Feb 1754.  The baptisms of five children were recorded:  Anna Catharina, baptized 2 Jun 1754, Johann Christoph, baptized 25 Sep 1757, Maria Magdalena, baptized 7 Oct 1759, Anna Magdalena, baptized 18 Jun 1762, and Anna Gertraud, baptized 16 Dec 1764.  The family arrived in Russia on 8 Aug 1766 and is reported in the Nieder-Monjou First Settler’s List in Family #51.
