Nine of Johann Gottfried and Eva Elisabeth's children were born in Schleesen and baptized at the Lutheran church in Bergwitz: Johann Gottfried, baptized 29 February 1736 (buried 26 March 1737); Anna Maria, baptized 12 September 1737; Maria Christina, baptized 4 February 1740 (buried 18 August 1740); Johanna Rosina, baptized 8 August 1741; Johann Christian, baptized 30 Nov 1743; Johann Christoph, baptized 30 March 1746; Hanna Louisa, baptized 14 December 1748; Johanna Christina, baptized 19 June 1751 (died 18 February and buried 20 February 1757 in Sichtigfort); and her twin, an unnamed stillborn daughter, buried 19 June 1751. Three of Johann Gottfried and Eva Elisabeth's children were born in Sichtigfort and baptized at the Lutheran church in Riesigk: Johann Gottfried, born 31 July, baptized 4 August 1754 (died 21 January, buried 26 January 1755); Johann Gottfried born 10 July and baptized 11 July 1756 (died 23 May and buried 25 May 1764 in Rothe Hoff), and his twin Dorothea Maria baptized the same day (died 4 June and buried 7 June 1757). Gottfried's wife Eva Elisabeth died in Rothe Hoff on 21 October and was buried on 24 October 1764.

David Spengler, a resident of Rothe Hoff, son of Christoph Spengler from Vockerode, married Johanna Rosina Wolf on 8 January 1764 at the Lutheran church in Riesigk. David and Johanna Rosina had one child before departing for Russia: Christoph Daniel, baptized 10 August 1764 at the Lutheran Church in Riesigk (died on 24 August in Rothe Hoff and buried on 25 August 1764).

The Wolf and Spengler families who travelled to the Volga were the widower Gottfried Wolf, his unmarried children (son Christoph and daughters Anna Maria and Hanna Louisa) and his married daughter Johanna Rosina (married to David Spengler). Both families arrived in Russia on 19 July 1766. Gottfried Wolf also left one son (Christian) behind in Germany. It is unknown whether Christian Wolf was later allowed to go to Russia to join his family there.
