Description

Johann Dietrich Homburg (from Calden in Hessen) and Maria Catharina Rohm (daughter of Johann Caspar Rohm) married in Gelnhaar on 25 February 1740. The baptisms of ten children are recorded in the Reformed Parish records of Bleichenbach: Johann Georg, born 23 January 1741, baptized 27 January (died 26 March 1741); Johannes, born 22 May, baptized 25 May 1742; Johann Georg, born 9 February, baptized 13 February 1745 (died 6 May 1747); Johann Heinrich, born 23 April, baptized 26 April 1747 (died 4 May 1750); Johann Michael, born 4 September, baptized 7 September 1749 (died 17 September 1749); Anna Margaretha, born 16 October, baptized 20 October 1750 (died 26 October 1750); Johann Philipp, born 7 April, baptized 11 April 1752; Anna Elisabeth, born 15 November, baptized 19 November 1754; Johann Leonard, born 13 Jun, baptized 20 June 1757 (died 12 April 1758); and Eva Elisabeth, born 28 October, baptized 1 November 1759. 
   
The Büdingen marriages report that Johannes Homburg married Julianna Kraft from Storndorf on 15 June 1766. Anna Julianna Kraft (daughter of Johann Heinrich Kraft) was baptized 10 February 1735 in Storndorf. 

Dietrich, Maria Catharina, their children Johann Philipp and Anna Elisabeth, along with Johannes and Julianna, arrived in Russia on 15 September 1766. Dietrich and Maria Catharina must have died during the journey to the villages. Johannes, Julianna, Philipp and Elisabeth are reported on the 1767 Census of Walter (First Settlers List) in Household #89.  

Johann Philipp married Anna Elisabeth Döll (daughter of Erasmus Döll) and this couple is reported on the 1798 Census of Walter in Household #79. Johannes and Julianna are reported in Household #31.  

In some records the surname appears as Hamburg.
