Johann Caspar Schnegelberger, son of Hans Nicolaus Schnegelberger (born 1693) & Anna Christina Wahl, was born in Angersbach in 1714. His grandfather was Eccard Schnegelberger who had been born in Rixfeld in 1655.
Johann Caspar married in 1754 to Anna Maria Becker, also of Angersbach. That same year, son Johann was born followed by Johann Conrad in 1757 and daughter Anna Catharina in 1763. The family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the Swjatoy Pawel under the command of midshipman Fyodor Sornev. The parents of this family died on the trip between Oranienbaum and the Volga colonies. The children settled in the Volga German colony of Beideck. Conrad Schnegelberger and his family are recorded in Beideck on the 1798 Census in Household No. Bd87.
In the 1820s, descendants of this family moved to the colony of Boisroux.
