Description

Johann Philipp Schwaab (son of Michael Schwaab and his wife Eva) and Catharina Werran (daughter of Johannes Werran and his wife Susanna) were married on 28 May 1754 in the Catholic church in Hofheim (Kreis Bensheim).  The baptisms of six children are recorded in the Hofheim parish records:   Balthasar Joseph, 19 Apr 1755; Maria Anna, 13 Feb 1757; Anna Maria, 1 Oct 1758; Johann Georg, 19 Sep 1760; Johannes, 7 Jul 1762; and Heinrich, 12 Jun 1764.   The family arrived in Russia on 8 Aug 1766.  It appears that only Johann Philipp and his son Johann Georg survived the trip to the villages.   They are reported on the Seewald First Settler’s List, household #29, with Johann Philipp now married to Elisabeth (last name unknown).  By the time of the 1798 Census, Elisabeth and several of her children with Johann Philipp have relocated to Dehler.
