Description

Johannes Wagner (son of Heinrich Wagner and Adelheid Pfanmöller) was born on 8 Oct 1736 in Wehrda. Anna Margaretha “Eva” Hämelmann (daughter of Daniel Hämelmann and Elisabeth Sippel) was born on 31 Dec 1740 in Wehrda (she is the half-sister of the wife of Valentin Melcher). They married in 1761 in Wehrda. They had one child, Johannes, born 13 Aug 1763, prior to departing for Russia.

According to the Werda family registers, Johannes’s sisters Anna Catherina and Anna Margaretha also went to Russia. The Büdingen parish records report a marriage on 9 May 1766 between Johann Georg Albrecht (Albert) and Anna Catharina Wagner. The couple is stated to be from "Werda im Trümbachischen".

Johannes Wagner, his wife, son, and sister Anna Margaretha, along with the Albert couple, arrived in Russia on 14 Sep 1766. The Wagner family settled in Walter in 1767 and is reported on the First Settler's List in Household #31. The Albert couple is reported in Household #30.
