Description

Christian Ruth, son of Conrad Ruth, and Anna Barbara Adler, daughter of Johannes Adler, were married on 22 Nov 1758 in Rückingen. They had three children baptized in Rückingen according to the church records: Anna Margaretha on 26 Jan 1760, Johann Jacob on 21 Oct 1761, and Johann Michael on 21 Dec 1763. The Ruth family arrived in Russia on 18 Jun 1766 (the name is misspelled “Roth” in the Kulberg book). By the time the family arrives in Kolb in 1767, Christian and Johann Jacob have died, and Anna Barbara has married Albrecht Yuckert after Albrecht’s wife also died. The surviving combined family is reported on the Kolb First Settler’s List with the Yuckert surname mispelled “Eckert”. Today, the towns of Rückingen and Langendiebach are combined into the town of Erlensee. This is about 4 miles northeast of Hanau.
