Description

The Kindsvater families of Dietel, Huck, and Kratzke all trace their lines back to one family that appears to have originally settled in Dietel. The 1767 Dietel census, however, does not record the family there. Johann Hartmann Kindsvater arrived in Dietel with his second wife (the widow Ruff) and children from his first marriage. His first wife, Anna Margaretha, is believed to have died en route to Russia.

Johann Hartmann Kindsvater was born in Herxheim-am-Berg. His father was Johann Michael Kindsvater who was born in 1685 in Herxheim-am-Berg and died there in 1760.

Eight Kindsvater families from Dietel and Huck moved to Brunnental in 1863 and 1871.
