Torrington

HISTORY

The city (located in Goshen County) was founded by W.G. Curtis and named by him for his home town of Torrington, Connecticut.

The Volga German settlement in Torrington is an extension of that across the state line in and around ScottsbluffNebraska. The sugar beet industry was the attraction to this area.
