History

In January of 1887, nineteen families from Huck immigrated to the region of Pehuajó Norte in the southern part of Entre Ríos Province of Argentina. They had traveled through Saratov to Germany where they boarded a ship that took 28 days to reach Buenos Aires.

After three days in Buenos Aires they traveled again by boat up the Paraná River to Diamante where they disambarked and proceeded to the colony of Protestante.  Here a former neighbor from Huck, Heinrich Herdt and his wife Anna María Hergenreder with their children Philipp, Johannes, and Katharina, were living.

In Protestante, there was no land available for the new families to purchase and they were invited by a German diplomat, Johannes Spangenberg, to buy his land in Pehuajó Norte where he had an "estancia" (a hacienda or large farm) with his brother Jacob.   On this land called "Campos Floridos" (Flowery Prairies) three new villages were founded on February 27, 1889: San Antonio, Santa Celia, and San Juan.

These 19 families included:

6) Heinrich Koch (35 years old) and Anna Maria Michel with their 2 sons.
7) Konrad Sittner (30 years old) and Anna Margarethe Sittner with their son: Peter Sittner (7 years old).
8) Johann Georg Sack (40 years old, he came back to Huck and died there) and Katharina Sittner with their 5 children:
· Barbara Sack (16 years old), late married Hornus.
· Katharina (15 years old), late married Georg Wambold.
· Georg Philipp Sack (14 years old)
· Lorenz Sack (7 years old).
· Johannes Sack (2 years old).
9) Johannes Koch (25 years old) and Katharina Elizabeth Huck with their daughter: Elizabeth Koch.
10) Jakob Zitterkopf (25 years old) and his wife Elizabeth with their 3 sons: Oswald Zitterkopf (10 years old), Georg Johannes Zitterkopf (4 years old) and other son more.
11) Lorenz Huck (19 years old).
12) Johannes Hergenröther (30 years old) and his wife Rosine with their son: Johann Georg Hergenröther (6 years old).
13) Georg Philipp Huck (30 years old).
14) Philipp Sittner (30 years old) and Elizabeth Huck.
15) Johannes Michel (30 years old) and Anna Margarethe Bohl.
16) Johann Georg Koch (30 years old) and Anna Maria Koch with their 2 sons: Johannes Koch (3 years old) and Alexander Koch (1 year old).
17) Jakob Kindsvater (30 years old) and Anna Maria Michel with their 2 children: Elizabeth Kindsvater (3 years old) and Philipp Kindsvater (1 year old).
18) Philipp Michel (30 years old) and Elizabeth Sittner with their daughter: Elizabeth.
19) David Weigandt (30 years old) and his wife Elizabeth with their 2 sons.

On 25 May 1889, 11 additional families arrived from Huck having left their homes in Russia on March 15. These 11 families included:

1) Philipp & Elizabeth (Michel) Huck & 2 daughters:
· Barbara Huck (18 years old, late married Georg Michel)
· Charlotte Huck (12 years old, late married Christian Bauer from Santa Celia).
2) Philipp Huck (Philipp Huck's son), born in Huck on May 28 1861, and his wife Elizabeth Sack.
3) Johann Georg Michel (60 years old) and his wife Christine Schaaf, with their granddaughter Katharina Elizabeth Hirt.
4) Konrad Michel “Hannschneider” (55 years old) and his wife Christine Hempel, with their 3 sons:
· Johann Georg Michel (30 years old) and his wife Katharina Elizabeth Schultheis with 3 daughters: Elizabeth Michel, Katharina Margarethe Michel and Eva Katharina Michel
· Philipp Michel (27 years old) and his wife Anna Maria Bohl.
· Konrad Michel (19 years old).
5) Jakob Huck (38 years old) and his wife Elizabeth Michel and their 6 children:
· Elizabeth Huck, later married Johannes Sittner.
· Jakob Huck
· Georg Philipp Huck, later married Margarethe Sittner.
· Anna Margarethe Huck, later married Ernst Fischer.
· Heinrich Huck
· Maria Huck, later married Jakob Bach.
6) Jakob Sack (54 years old) and his wife Katharina Michel with their 4 children:
· Elizabeth Sack (27 years old), married Philipp Huck (the number 2 in this list).
· Johann Georg Sack (24 years old), married Margarethe Schäffer.
· Heinrich Sack (21 years old).
· Johannes Sack (16 years old).
7) Johann Georg Schultheis "Michels" (27 years old) and his wife Barbara Weber with their son Adam Schultheis.
8) Jakob Heidenreich (31 years old) and his wife Magdalene Bohl with their 3 children:
· Johann Georg Heidenreich (9 years old).
· Anna Maria Heidenreich (6 years old).
· Georg Philipp (4 years old).
9) Jakob Michel (31 years old) and his wife Maria Katharina Borrat with 5 children:

10) Jakob Michel (40 years old) and his 2nd wife Magdalene Niederhaus with the 4 children of Jakob Michel and his 1st wife Katharina Niederhaus (Magdalene's old sister): Johann Georg Michel, Anna Margarethe Michel, Elizabeth Michel and Katharina Michel, and their son: Philipp Michel (son of Jakob and Magdalene)
11) Kaspar and Georg Weigand

On 21 November 1891, 17 more families from Huck arrived in Buenos Aires on the ship Uruguay. These families also settled in San Antonio:

1) Johann Georg Sack (43 years old) and his wife Catharina (44 years old) with their 5 children: Jacob (25 years old), Georg (19 years old), Charlotte (11 years old), Johannes (8 years old) and Georg Philipp (5 years old).
2) Jacob Leichner (27 years old) and his wife Barbara (27 years old) with their 3 children: Jacob (4 years old), Barbara (3 years old) and Catharina (1 year old).
3) Oswald Huck (23 years old), his brother Georg (17 years old) and their 3 sisters: Barbara (25 years old), Johanna (15 years old) and Anna Marie (14 years old).
4) Georg Sack (46 years old) and his wife Margaretha (43 years old) with their 5 children: Anna Maria (18 years old), Catharina (15 years old), Maria Catharina (8 years old), Johannes (5 years old) and Georg (20 years old) with his wife Catharina (20 years old) and the their twins Carl and Georg (6 months)
5) Georg Sittner (50 years old) and his wife Barbara (52 years old) with their 6 children:
Christine (31 years old) with her two children Amalie (6 years old) and Alexander (5 years old)

13) Georg Philipp Eckert (37 years old) and his wife Margaretha (35 years old) with their 6 children: Georg (11 years old), Johannes (10 years old), Amalie (8 years old), Anna Margaretha (6 years old), Jacob (4 years old) and Catharina (2 years old)
14) Johannes Brotzmann (42 years old) and his wife Elisabeth 42 years old) with their 3 children: Georg (11 years old), Jacob 5 years old) and Elisabeth (1 year old)

In the 1950s and 1960s, many people from San Antonio moved to Villa Ballester, a suburb of metropolitan Buenos Aires.
